Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a distinctive keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics
Bentley is a company which takes its aesthetics seriously. This is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting and the use of leather derived from products of cattle, the wood from sustainably-managed forests, and the innovative patterns of its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you approach it and showcases its stunning sculptural design and power by carefully curated lighting.
The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever designed. Its rear tonneau for instance, featured the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
Bentley is the most sought-after automotive brand globally due to its unique design and craftsmanship. Design
Bentley is famous for its lavish and extravagant automobiles, but even keys are designed to make a statement. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges shows the model, color and style preferences for the custom Bentley.
The configuration that is created is saved to individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards, which are presented to the guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys can be adorned with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the path of the door opening with the owner's name or logo as they approach the car.
Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man hours to design and put together the typical Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to adopt the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers don't employ a machine to place perfectly-matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers must park their vehicles manually, not using sensors built into the vehicle to guide them into perpendicular and paralell spots.
During the event, Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities with a special example - the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include a key that displays the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
